The Proceq Pundit Live Array - Ultrasonics for hidden concrete voids - HTA in England

The Pundit Live Array

Ultrasonics detecting hidden voids

The Pundit Live Array developed by Proceq, utilises a multi-array ultrasonics to overcome the reflective issues from highly reinforced and congested concrete that metallic objects within concrete create when GPR is employed.

Pundit Live Array applications

Understanding Tomography Ultrasonics; where and when it should be employed requires training plus live site experience. This is vital to competently read the data and interpret all information being displayed and how that is applicable to the building being assessed.

  • Grouting Defects within Post Tensioned Structures
  • Detection of Voids within Concrete
  • Detection of Cracks within Concrete
  • Investigations of Fibre Reinforced Concrete
  • Investigations for Potential Air Gaps

Showtime: Pundit Live Array & fibre reinforcement

This new 6500m2 slab included metallic fibre reinforcement, unfortunatley these fibres had not been mixed adequately resulting in 'clumping' and serious voidage within. GPR could not assit here as the metallic congestion flashed the radar back to the GPR unit creating unreadable results.

Employing the Proceq Pundit Live Array, the mult-array ultrasonics enabled clear readings as to what was going on within this slab.
